Kylie Minogue
This November, we can think of no one better to be Artist Of The Month than Kylie Minogue. Celebrating a 20-year pop career, Kylie has achieved a status few in the fickle music industry achieve. More than a mere pop star, Kylie's one of the few artists known worldwide by her first name only.
A pop icon, a hit-maker, a style-setter and a much-cherised figure, Kylie's become the queen of reinvention. Move over Madonna, there's a new Queen Of Pop in town and we've got Kylie tunes, videos and pictures to prove it.

November also marks the month when Kylie returns to music from a two-year hiatus. This month sees the release of the hugely anticipated album X, preceeded by first single, 2 Hearts, whose video sees Kylie as a Marilyn-esque sultry grande dame, complete with blonde bombshell locks and killer heels. Haven't seen it? Watch 2 Hearts now!
Kylie's return to music marks another milestone in this lady's remarkable career. She's rarely been out of the limelight since bursting onto the scene in the Aussie soap Neighbours as loveable tomboy mechanic Charlene. A succession of PWL tunes and chart-toppers launched Kylie as a successful pop phenomenon, but she broke free from the suffocation of this partnership and thus began a new phase of increased autonomy and control over her own career.
Parting ways with her record label, signing to indie Destruction and embarking on a number of unusual collaborations, including Manic Street Preachers and in Where The Wild Roses Go with Nick Cave, were all part and parcel of this re-invention, but saw a dip in her commercial success. It was in the late 1990s that Kylie really found her second wind musically with her first number one for 10 years with Spinning Around. The video, featuring a certain pair of gold pants, raised a certain amount of interest as well.
The year 2000 brought Kylie new success with Can't Get You Out Of My Head. Accompanied once again by a stunning video, it was a number one hit in many countries. Sadly, the new decade also brought a major health scare, which forced the break in her Showgirl tour in 2005. Happily, she's recovered, completed the tour and even launched a designer line of swimwear as well.
Kylie's new single 2 Hearts is released in early November, followed by the new album, X on 26th, featuring collaborations with Calvin Harris, Bloodshy and Avant and Cathy Dennis. Check back each week in November as we add more and more exclusive stuff to our Kylie Artist Of The Month celebration!
