Brakes: Beatific Visions

Brakes

Brakes (aka brakesbrakesbrakes) release their new single Beatific Visions from their album of the same name and you can see it first and exclusively here.

Brakes, though from the UK, make idiosyncratic, Americana-infused rock, their second album Beatific Visions described by Pitchfork as: "the shimmy at the end of the world, wide-eyed and wild as it should be."

Having gone down a storm over the pond after the recent tour of the States, garnering favourable comparisons with Arctic Monkeys, Brakes returned to the UK to play a storming set at Glastonbury and lining up appearances at Reading/Leeds and End Of The Road festivals amongst many.

Previous Brakes' singles concerned the loss of liberty (Hold Me In The River) and the death of God (Cease And Desist), so Beatific Visions, a celebration of 'le petit mort' is a welcome ray of light.

Watch Beatific Visions and get a taste of the Brakes sound with three tracks from the album, Hold Me In The River, Cease And Desist and All Night Disco Party.
