Conquering the world with her debut album Eye To The Telescope, Scottish singer/songwriter KT Tunstall is back after a year-long break with her second album, Drastic Fantastic. She performed new tracks and old faves in front of an enraptured audience.

After such phenomenal success, KT Tunstall's life changed dramatically after her album Eye To The Telescope was released. She was nominated for awards left, right and centre (she won a prestigious Ivor Novello song-writing award for Suddenly I See), critically praised and the general public couldn't get enough of the sassy girl with her distinctive acoustic style and powerful voice.

In 2006, KT Tunstall took a break from the madness of her new-found fame, hung out in a little private retreat on the Isle Of Skye and recorded an album of acoustic tracks called, fittingly, Acoustic Extravaganza.

With the release of her second album proper, though, it's back to the art of making hit songs which KT Tunstall has made look so easy. In the title, KT explained to us in the interview that she was looking for a kind of explosive, "comic-book theme" inspired by the Sin City comics and film. A resonance for KT, who has found her life taking on more dramatic and drastic turns in the last few years.

She told us how excited she (and her burgeoning band which now includes backing singers) were about performing the new tracks, little played until now. Song highlights include Hold On, with a big beat recalling the dancehall rhythms of KT's neighbourhood, Harlesden in West London. Saving My Face is another cracker, inspired by the ladies of a certain age who are fond of plastic surgery.

On top of the great new tracks, KT also played crowd-pleasing old songs Suddenly I See (about Patti Smith apparently) and Another Place To Fall. So without further ado, watch one of our best sessions yet, KT Tunstall, back and ready for more drastic, fantastic stuff.
