NME Awards USA 2008
The first-ever NME Awards USA marked an important date in music history with the original line-up of Jane’s Addiction reuniting for the first time in 17 years.

The founding members of Jane’s Addiction were handed the Godlike Genius Award by NME Editor Conor McNicholas. "I wanna thank NME for staying true to what really counts - the music. They helped facilitate this reunion we have here tonight," said Dave Navarro, the band's guitarist.
The event that took place at the El-Rey theatre in Los Angeles was hosted by actor Jim Jeffries. The Killers were the big winners for the night with two wins for Best Track and Best Band.
Other winners included Justice with the Best Video for D.A.N.C.E, Arcade Fire for Best International Band and Best International Live Act, MGMT for Best Breakthrough Track, My Chemical Romance for Best Live Act, Foo Fighters for Best Album, The Klaxons for Best International Track, The Arctic Monkeys for Best International Album and Vampire Weekend for Best New Band. Evan Dando and The Lemonheads performed at show and the band was also honoured with the Classic Album award for their 1992 album It's A Shame About Ray.
Mike Jones who performed with his band Carbon/Silicon was handed an Inspiration award by actress Sienna Miller. Other performers include Har Mar Superstar and Does It Offend You, Yeah?
Jane’s Addiction closed the show with a performance of their hits.
