The Sugababes are back and 2009 sees a new chapter in the band's history with the exciting introduction of stunning new member Jade Ewen, who joins Heidi Range and Amelle Berrabah following the departure of Keisha Buchanan, who left to pursue a solo career.

For the band's 7th studio album aptly titled 'Sweet 7', the girls decided to retool the Sugababes magic. "It was about remembering what we are," says Amelle, "and thinking about what we can be. We love this band. We love what we do. And we love the fact that every album is different from the last."

The new record is marked by a glistening neon sheen. It sits ahead of the contemporary curve of welterweight R&B with an endless succession of tracks to choose as singles. The album features a flawless cast-list of collaborators including sessions with Ne-Yo, Red One, Stargate, the Smeezingtons and Beyonce writer Makeba.

Jade, when asked about joining the band, said: "I grew up listening to the Sugababes and was a huge fan of their music, so when the opportunity was presented to me there was absolutely no doubt in my mind that I wanted to be a part of it."

She further added, "My biggest challenge since joining has been learning all the songs! Although I’m very familiar with a lot of them I didn't realise how many there were! I’ve got to learn them properly and make sure I get all the words right because I’ve been making quite a few of them up!"
