The Kooks
Riding an explosive wave of adulation and chart success are four young men known collectively as The Kooks. Emerging from the Brighton music scene, they've enjoyed massive album sales, a sell-out tour and 10 weeks in the Top 10 since they were signed last year.
Mind you, the success hasn't gone to their heads. The lads told us that they haven't yet become part of a celebrity clique, mixing with the likes of Chris 'n' Gwyneth.
This year they played to a crowd of around 30,000 at the Isle of Wight Festival, and admitted finding the experience both "crazy" and "daunting".
It's a long way from the years spent on the road, touring tiny, sweaty venues and building up a loyal (and very youthful) fanbase. The huge success of their single Naive in March this year brought with it huge media attention. Luke said: "It was quite mad for us you know... I remember the week that it went out it did go a bit mental."
It's a far cry from the days spent strumming songs on their Brighton balcony. In fact, Luke said he has his sights set on Paris as his next home, as it's "a really cool place to play gigs!"
So what's next for The Kooks? When we asked what their next move would be, Luke joked about "global domination". With their track record, you wouldn't bet against it.
